2011-12 SUSTAINABLE FOOD & DESIGN LECTURE SERIES
Exercise your mind!
This year's public lecture series will bring together architects, landscape designers, ecologists, urban farmers, activists, and artists who are pioneering new practices in urban sustainable food and local food system education and developing new approaches to engaging community stakeholders. A guiding theme that underpins these talks is how design can play a greater role supporting sustainable, equitable food systems and promoting a healthy food culture. This includes exploring how architecture and the design process can enhance both the form and function of urban farms, expand food access education, and develop new resources in communities with little access to locally grown food.
Lecture locations vary; please pay close attention to venue information for each event.
