Cathy Hudzik works on water policy and waterfront development for Mayor Richard M. Daley.  She also manages the City of Chicago's river revitalization efforts, including the city's efforts to improve water quality, increase public access, protect wildlife habitat, and enhance neighborhood life along the Chicago River.  She also coordinates the city's work to develop the Chicago Riverwalk, a public promenade along Wacker Drive in downtown Chicago.

Cathy has been with Mayor Daley's office for four years. Prior to her work for the city, she worked nationally and internationally as a consultant on urban river revitalization.  She also previously worked for Friends of the Chicago River, where she managed the organization's stewardship and canoeing programs along with work on several riverbank stabilization and restoration projects.  Cathy has a BA in environmental sciences and anthropology from Northwestern University and a Master's degree in environmental planning from the University of California, Berkeley.
