Why Do We Need A New Form of Housing?

A Growing Elderly Population

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, a study by the department of Housing and Urban Development, and a number of additional studies, the elderly population in the United States will continue to grow at an unprecedented rate.

As the population pyramid on the left shows, not only will we have a greater number of seniors, but they will also make up a much larger portion of our population.

This growth is due to increased life expectancy and the aging of the Baby Boomers (the largest generation in history).

Homeostasis addresses these issues by offering a portable, accessible living structure that can be erected quickly and at a moderate cost.
