Margaret Frisbie
Executive Director, Friends of the Chicago River

Margaret Frisbie is executive director of Friends of the Chicago River, the only organization exclusively dedicated to improving and protecting the Chicago River. Appointed to her position in May 2005, Frisbie has been working to improve water quality standards for the Chicago River system, develop guidance for responsible river corridor development, and establish relationships with civic, corporate, and government leaders throughout the Chicago River watershed. Passionate about protecting and restoring wild and urban landscapes, Frisbie serves as secretary on the board of directors of Friends of the Forest Preserves, as a member of Mayor Daley’s Chicago Riverwalk Development Committee, and Governor Quinn’s Illinois River Coordinating Council. In 2010, the Harvard Business School Club of Chicago named Frisbie as a Roman Nomitch Fellow.
