Andrew Vesselinovitch
Trust for Public Land
Andrew is Director of the Chicago Urban Parks Program for the Trust for Public Land. He is currently managing the Bloomingdale Trail project, aimed at converting the abandoned three-mile Canadian Pacific Railway right-of-way above Bloomingdale Avenue into an elevated “rail trail” for runners, hikers, cyclists, and inline skaters. The first stage of this project was the creation of a half-acre “pocket park,” which serves 4,300 children and acts as a main access point to the Trail. Prior to moving to Chicago, Andrew held numerous planning, conservation, and transportation-related positions in San Francisco and New York City, and has consulted internationally. He holds five degrees, including a J.D., M Arch, and M.U.D.
