David M. Thompson is currently the Executive Director of the Chicago Center for Urban Ecology. Previously, he was Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Chicago-Kent College of Law. From 2004 to 2007, David was Associate Dean for Planning & Programs in the Division of the Humanities at the University of Chicago, in which capacity he supervised communications, arts programming, facilities, community partnerships, and capital projects.
David also worked as Associate Director of Gift Planning in the University of Chicago, and as an associate attorney with the firm of Sachnoff & Weaver. After completing his master’s degree at Oxford University on a Marshall Scholarship, David completed his Ph.D. in comparative literature at the University of Chicago and his J.D. at Northwestern University.
