Florian Pfahler
Hannah's Bretzel

Florian Pfahler founded Hannah's Bretzel in 2005. Hannah’s Bretzel is Chicago’s first quick service sandwich maker to focus on organic ingredients, whole grain nutrition and environmentally friendly business practices. Hannah’s opened in May 2005 and currently operates two locations in Chicago’s Loop with two additional units planned for 2010.

Throughout his work Florian has always been most interested in companies and brands that redefined their category through innovation and marketing. The objective of Hannah’s is to positively influence the way quick service restaurants operate by leading by example, particularly regarding nutrition and waste. Furthermore Hannah’s objective is to proof to a regional if not national customer audience that healthier foods and sandwiches do not need to lack taste or flavor.

Hannah’s is the first and leading environmentally friendly quick service restaurant in the Chicago market. Since opening the first location in May 2005 Hannah’s has increased its share of biodegradable packaging to  95 percent. In 2007 Hannah’s opened the first LEED certified retail business location in the mid-west and in 2008 Hannah’s was awarded the Chicago Magazine Green Award for outstanding contributions toward environmental awareness in the retail category. Hannah’s Bretzel is a founding member of the Green Restaurant Cooperative and The Organic Food Cooperative in Chicago. To learn more please visit www.hannahsbretzel.com.
